Junk, buy a different one from Philips. December 30, 2008 Reviewer:  Bruce Rutkoski "Natureguy" Real Name (Ravenna, Ohio)  See all my reviews >

This antenna worked horrible. The fine tuning knob was intermittent, causing signal loss. Overall it was junky. I returned the unit. If you want a really good basic antenna, the only one I was able to find that actually works is a Philips SDV2270/17. I found that one at Lowes. The SDV2270 really pulled in the VHF stations far better than three other antennas I tried, and it is far less expensive. I tried amplified antennas, flat panel antennas, none worked as good as the SDV2270/17. I live 30 miles from the transmitters and the SDV2270 pulled in the DTV stations very well.

Cheap, Cheap, CHEAP! January 3, 2009 Reviewer:  Tony in NC (Suburban Charlotte, NC)  See all my reviews >

The first on of these purchased I could not rate as the coax connector had no threads cut into it so could not attach to my HDTV converter box. Returned that one for another and the reception with it was not as good as the rabbit ears we've used on this tv for years. This is the 3d different Phillips "amplified" indoor antenna model we have tried and none of them worked well enough to keep! I'm no genius but I don't think that an antenna is "amplified" if there is no power cord to plug into an AC outlet. We live within 15-20 miles of all of the local tv stations in the Charlotte area and we could pick up one VHF and one UHF station with enough signal strength to avoid "tileing" and loss of picture and sound. Don't bother with this one, very cheaply made.

It's worth the money! February 20, 2009 Reviewer:  P.Kat-kitty See all my reviews >

After reading the other reviews, I bought this anyway. I hooked it up in no time at all and my TV picture is beautiful! I have no complaints. I'm not sure how the knob fine-tunes anything but I haven't needed to adjust it at all, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Worthless July 28, 2009 Reviewer:  BondiBluey (Los Angeles)  See all my reviews >

I was up in Bakersfield helping a friend with her new digital box, reception etc.

Thought this was worth a try as the rabbit ears and UHF loop had plenty of flexibility. And they do.

Problem is that the skinny little wire that runs to the box (or your TV) picks up all kinds of stuff as well. The selector was of absolutely no use either.

So whatever you do with the ears or the loop, the connector wire will defeat it.

Move the wire and the reception changes.

We returned it and will stick with the old GE Optima which, whilst not perfect, at least uses flat wire to the TV that interferes much less.

Only improves reception for some channels June 24, 2009 Reviewer:  CH (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

I bought this indoor antenna to connect to a new HDTV I recently installed. While the antenna does help improve reception for some channels, there are still quite a few (NBC, Fox 9 in particular) which have a weak signal. I will likely return this to the store and try the next priced antenna.

No improvement over my 20 year old rabbit ears March 31, 2009 Reviewer:  JacknRochNY See all my reviews >

I have been using rabbit ears with a Digital-to-Analog Converter box and a UHF channel (FOX) in my area switched totally to digital recently. I could get no signal at all, so I was looking for a cheap new set and this one peaked my attention cause it had the UHF flat panel incorporated (the black thing between the two ears) to improve UHF reception. Did not improve, still no signal, and in fact the other VHF channels that came in clear with old ears we slightly less with this attenna. This is going back to store, and I will try a more expensive one.

Works fine for the price January 27, 2009 Reviewer:  Jenny T "Jenny T." (Los Angeles, CA)  See all my reviews >

I connected it through the RF cord, and I have to admit it was pretty blurry, but when I switched it to RCA (the yellow, red and white cords) it was super clear. And plus, for the price you can't expect it to be super clear. If you want super clear you would go with satellite or cable television.

got all my channels December 31, 2009 Reviewer:  JanG (Iowa)  See all my reviews >

I bought this one because my cable company is feuding with Fox and I wabted a plan B. Previous antennas I've tried couldn't get all of the channels once they went to digital. This one does. And it is cheap.

Philips Indoor HDTV Antenna October 28, 2009 Reviewer:  M. Muller Real Name See all my reviews >

Waste of money! only fifteen bucks, but unless you live with in 10 miles of all the stations it will not help at all. if you walk across the room tv skips in and out.

Don't bother... August 27, 2009 Reviewer:  KAM (St. Louis, Mo)  See all my reviews >

This antenna, although inexpensive, is not worth buying at all. The reception is good on one or two channels, but as soon as you switch to another channel, you must re-adjust the antenna and thus lose the one or two channels you originally had. The knob is of little to no benefit and so is the flat bar. It's just not worth the time and effort it takes to set this antenna up only to get the one or two channels you might happen to luck upon. Spend the nickel more to buy a better quality model. Will be returning this one back to the store ASAP!
